FARM ESTATE MANAGER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Farm Operations Management: o Oversee the planning, cultivation, and harvesting of crops, ensuring that operations are carried out efficiently and within established timelines. o Manage irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and disease management strategies to optimize crop yields. o Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in farming. 2. Team Leadership: o Supervise and lead farm workers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation. o Foster a positive and productive work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. 3. Financial Oversight: o Manage the farm’s budget, ensuring that operational costs are controlled, and resources are used effectively. o Monitor crop production costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible. o Assist in preparing financial reports, including revenue forecasts and expenditure tracking. 4. Sustainability & Environmental Practices: o Develop and implement sustainability programs to minimize the environmental impact of farming operations. o Collaborate with environmental agencies to ensure compliance with sustainability standards and certifications (e.g., RSPO, Fair Trade). o Promote soil health, water conservation, and responsible land management practices. 5. Supply Chain and Logistics: o Oversee the post-harvest handling, storage, and transportation of crops. o Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, and distributors to ensure efficient product delivery and market competitiveness. 6. Maintenance of Equipment and Infrastructure: o Ensure that all machinery, tools, and infrastructure are properly maintained and serviced regularly. o Develop maintenance schedules and manage repairs when necessary to avoid disruptions in farm activities. 7. Reporting and Documentation: o Maintain accurate records of farm activities, crop performance, labor, and other key performance indicators (KPIs). o Prepare regular reports for management on farm performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
