Key Responsibilities: Design and Planning: - Develop and design mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, lighting, power distribution, and control systems. - Create detailed specifications, drawings, and schematics using CAD software. - Conduct feasibility studies and energy efficiency assessments. Project Management: - Manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. - Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate M&E systems into building designs. - Prepare and present project reports, schedules, and budgets. Installation and Maintenance: - Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems. - Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure systems are functioning correctly and efficiently. - Diagnose and rectify faults in mechanical and electrical systems. Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure all systems comply with local, national, and international regulations and standards. - Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals and certifications. Sustainability: - Implement energy-efficient and sustainable solutions in all projects. - Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in sustainable engineering. Health and Safety: - Adhere to and promote health and safety standards on all projects. - Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices. Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Professional certification (e.g., CEng, PE) preferred. - Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools. - Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong project management and organizational abilities. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in M&E engineering or a related field. - Experience in both design and site-based roles preferred. - Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
