CERTIFIED PROSTHETIST & ORTHOTIST

CPO JOB DESCRIPTION • Interview, Assess and Measure patients to determine the suitable appliance according to patient’s need • Designing orthoses or prostheses devices based on physicians’ prescription and patient’s personal preference • Modify the plaster cast of various prosthetic and orthotic devices • To fit, test and evaluate device on patient and to make necessary adjustment to ensure proper fit, function and comfort • To identify and solve any problem that may arises, or address complaint made by patients • Repair, rebuild and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices • Educate patient on don/doff process, the proper usage and care instructions of orthoses and prostheses • Select suitable materials or components to be use based on devices’ design • To attend rehabilitation clinics at General Hospital around East/West Malaysia as scheduled by the hospital and company • To schedule home visit to patient’s house whenever necessary to supply, repair or casting • To engage in productive and healthy relationship with fellow colleague and build positive working environment • To train, educate and supervise fellow team members regarding workmanship of orthotic or prosthetic devices • Perform quality control test to ensure the device follows quality standard set by the company • Update skills and knowledge about latest technology/product by attending conference and seminars • Conducts seminars or classes to build awareness and sharing knowledge regarding prostheses and orthoses with healthcare workers and etc • Establish good relationship with doctors, medical staff and patients • To obey the code of conduct fixed by company
