About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchaser to join our growing team in the Food & Beverage industry. As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring high-quality ingredients, packaging materials, and supplies to support our daily operations. Your role is vital in ensuring timely procurement and maintaining optimal inventory levels while building strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers for the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies and supplier agreements.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring stock availability without over-purchasing.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen, warehouse, and operations team to understand procurement needs.
  • Track delivery timelines and follow up with vendors to ensure timely arrival of goods.
  • Perform supplier evaluation and selection based on pricing, quality, reliability, and service.
  • Monitor market trends and product availability to ensure competitive purchasing.
  • Ensure all procurement records are updated and filed accurately for audit and reporting purposes.
  • Manage cost control initiatives to reduce waste and optimize purchasing efficiency.
  • Liaise with internal departments and provide regular updates on purchase status.
  • Handle non-conformities or issues with deliveries (e.g., damaged or missing items).
  • Assist in the forecasting of future purchasing needs based on production plans and sales projections.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the F&B, retail, or FMCG industry.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing or inventory software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, SAP).
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work in Taman Mount Austin, Johor Bahru, during the stated working hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,824.85 - RM5,271.93 per month
