Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor all site works to ensure they are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with contract requirements and relevant construction standards.
  • Identify and report any non-conformities or discrepancies in materials, workmanship, or methods used on site.
  • Liaise closely with contractors, consultants, and client representatives to coordinate site activities and resolve site issues promptly.
  • Ensure safety practices are implemented and adhered to by all parties on site in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare daily and weekly site reports, including progress updates, photographic records, and records of manpower, equipment, and materials used.
  • Verify and record site measurements and assist in certifying completed works for interim claims and payments.
  • Monitor site logistics and resources, ensuring that site activities are well-coordinated and efficient.
  • Attend site meetings, technical briefings, and inspections with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities when required.
  • Provide technical feedback and support to ensure construction challenges are addressed efficiently.

We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Inspector of Work (IOW) for an upcoming Flood Mitigation Project. - Possess a Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • Must be registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as an Inspector of Works (IOW).
  • Maximum 2 years of relevant site supervision experience, preferably in civil engineering works such as drainage, flood mitigation, earthworks, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Capable of monitoring construction works to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Able to prepare site reports, monitor work progress, and highlight site issues or non-compliance to the consultant or project engineer.
  • Familiar with site procedures, inspection processes, and quality control related to civil works.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and able to write clear and concise reports.
  • Possess a valid driving license and willing to travel or be stationed at the project site.
  • Good interpersonal skills, proactive, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
