Implement, maintain and improve electrical instruments, equipment for construction purposes Plan and develop work schedules Prepare material and labour estimates to ensure meeting the budgeted guidelines Perform routine, corrective, project and preventive maintenance as assigned/directed by the Project Manager Perform equipment/parts repair, installation and servicing as necessary Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Duty may include activities related to preparation or clean-up during emergency situations Review and prepare specifications for electrical, electronic and computer control systems for plant systems and equipment. Design and assist in the design of electrical, electronic and computer control systems for power plants. Assist in the planning, design and installation of equipment related to operation and maintenance of power plant control systems. Conduct and coordinate/oversee the work of others in conducting detailed tests on the operation of power plant equipment such as electrical and electronic control equipment, instrumentation, monitoring systems and data retrieval systems. Prepare regular project status reports for the management team and/or others as directed. Design control systems for major power plant equipment. Assist with the development of station/engineering goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures. Plan and control all activities to provide an accident-free work place. Ensure that the plant complies with all governmental regulations and reporting requirements. Regularly review assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness. Perform various activities including installation or checkout of new equipment, troubleshooting, testing, tuning, etc. Provide requests to Procurement for requisitioning new parts and equipment Perform related duties/work as required and/or assigned
