What you'll be doing: Implementing comprehensive HSE programs and providing guidance to plant staff. Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards, to ensure compliance. Verifying the fitness and medical certification of workers, prioritizing their well-being. Develop and audit a Site Safety Management Plan (SMP) for the facility management to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and community. Coordinating safety-related activities such as first aid coverage, fire-fighting training, and toolbox meetings. Proactively reporting incidents, conducting thorough investigations, and overseeing corrective actions. Review safety obligations of the clients and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the Plant Manager, Engineers, HR and Supervisors. Ensure safety boards with postings including but not limited to: Health and safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current. To ensure workplace always be kept clean and tidy. Sufficient time shall be allocated for housekeeping before and after work or change of shift. To arrange a daily toolbox meetings prior commencing works. All toolbox meetings shall be minute and records kept for the company’s review. Co-ordinate with customer for the safety committee meeting as per the factory act, and to monitor the compliance points. Frequency is once in a month. Implementation of sound safety culture to promote safe practices including wearing of personal protective equipment's (PPEs) amongst all section of personnel at the location – employees, contract labour and visitors. Conduct safety audit and coordination / facilitate for conducting other internal and external audit as per the client HSSE KPI parameter. Prepare and monitor periodical compliances for the various safety audits recommendations and monitor the ATS reports and compliance of the points. Organizing impactful safety, security, and environmental events to reinforce awareness. Prepare and submit to appropriate authorities various periodical reports safety, security, health, environment including training. Maintain all related records for the purpose of reference and audits. Ensure and monitor implementation of effective work permit system and record maintained. During the maintenance work, the permits are to be checked, and verified as the work place safe and secure. Identify / organize/ co-ordinate safety related trainings to all personnel like employees/ contract labourers etc, as per the company regulations. Incident/ accident / near miss investigation, analysis with specific focus on the root causes, reporting, adoption of corrective and preventive measures and dissemination of findings / lesson learnt with all concerned of the location. Maintenance of first aid boxes with list of medicines. And relevant records to be maintained. UCUX (unsafe condition unsafe act) must be prepared and it has to be monitored as well. Other duties as required by Plant Manager and/or Management.
