POSITION: INTERIOR DESIGNER / ARCHITECT Job Summary An Interior/Event Architect is responsible for developing creative, functional, and innovative designs for events and interiors. This role blends artistic vision, technical expertise, and project management to deliver exceptional designs tailored to clients' needs. Duties and Responsibilities: Interior Design: a. Concept Development: Create design concepts for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces, aligning with client needs and brand identity. b. Space Planning: Develop functional layouts that optimize the use of space while ensuring comfort, accessibility, and flow. c. Material Selection: Source and recommend materials, furnishings, finishes, and colour schemes to achieve the desired design aesthetic. d. Design Presentation: Prepare visual presentations, mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings to communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders. e. Project Management: Oversee the entire interior design process, from initial design through to project completion, ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met. f. Collaboration: Work with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals (e.g., engineers, electricians) to ensure designs are executed according to specifications. g. Compliance: Ensure designs comply with safety, building codes, and regulations. Event Architecture Responsibilities: a. Event Conceptualization: Work with clients to conceptualize and design event spaces, considering themes, branding, audience engagement, and practical needs. b. Layout and Flow: Plan the event layout, including stage placement, seating arrangements, entrances, exits, and pathways to ensure smooth flow for attendees. c. Temporary Structures: Design and plan temporary structures such as stages, pavilions, booths, and exhibition spaces that meet safety and functional standards. d. Visual and Environmental Design: Develop the visual design for events, including lighting, props, and interactive installations, to create an immersive experience for attendees. e. Coordination with Vendors: Liaise with event coordinators, vendors, and technical teams (e.g., lighting, AV, and stage setups) to ensure the seamless execution of event designs. f. Logistics and Budget Management: Manage event budgets and timelines, ensuring the design aligns with logistical requirements and client expectations. g. Post-Event Analysis: Assess event success and gather feedback to inform future designs and improvements. Specific Skills/Knowledge and Certification Required: a. Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, 3Ds Max/Enscape/3D Rendering). b. Strong understanding of design principles and event strategies. c.
