Position Summary

Are you a tech-savvy engineering student eager to contribute to real-world plant engineering projects? We are looking for an Intern in Engineering Database Support to join our Plant Engineering team and support key project deliverables using AUCOTEC Engineering Base, a state-of-the-art tool for process design. This internship is ideal for someone who combines engineering knowledge with strong IT skills, enjoys working with databases and software tools, and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional project environment.


Key Responsibilities

Core Focus: AUCOTEC Engineering Base

  • Support the preparation of engineering diagrams such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Assist in generating engineering datasheets, line lists, and instrument lists aligned with project requirements.
  • Help maintain and improve the internal piping class database, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • (Optional) Collaborate on automation initiatives using the VBA API—coding knowledge is a plus, but not essential.


Additional Involvement

  • Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions with experienced engineers.
  • Join selected project meetings to gain exposure to plant design workflows and client interactions.
  • Perform quality control checks on project deliverables to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Help structure and manage digital technical documentation for smooth project delivery.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For?

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Chemical, Process, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Strong IT affinity with the ability to quickly learn new software tools and manage engineering data efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of process engineering principles, such as fluid flow, heat transfer, and piping systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and data handling.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • (Bonus) Exposure to VBA, Python, or other scripting languages—we’ll support you if you’re interested in exploring automation.
