Role description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Denodo Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our data integration and virtualization capabilities using Denodo’s platform. As a part of our team, you will help develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, enabling robust data solutions for various business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Denodo Platform Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain data integration and virtualization solutions using the Denodo Platform to enable seamless data access across disparate systems.
  • Data Virtualization: Work on data virtualization architecture and provide access to real-time, high-quality data to business users without the need for complex ETL processes.
  • Data Modeling: Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to create data models and mappings that optimize data flow and performance in the Denodo platform.
  • ETL/ELT Development: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from multiple sources into Denodo, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance of data queries and optimize Denodo views for efficiency, ensuring the scalability of the system.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot data issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement resolutions to improve the overall data architecture.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to deliver data solutions that support business goals.
  • Data Governance & Security: Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance within the Denodo platform in alignment with corporate governance policies.
  • Documentation & Training: Create comprehensive technical documentation and provide training to internal teams on best practices for utilizing the Denodo platform.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Denodo data virtualization platform.
  • Proficiency in Denodo Design Studio, Denodo VQL (Denodo Query Language), and Denodo Scheduler.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes, SQL, and database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with Denodo.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration tools and technologies like Apache Kafka, Talend, Informatica, or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize performance in data processing and querying.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-native data virtualization and cloud architecture patterns.
  • Knowledge of big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) and their integration with Denodo.
  • Experience in developing data pipelines in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Certification in Denodo Data Virtualization or related technologies.
