Join SymphonyAI Financial Services as a Software Engineer and work in our Financial Crime Prevention Product Engineering team. We develop innovative software and solutions for regulatory compliance, fraud, and financial crime detection, investigation, and reporting.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in understanding functional and non-functional requirements, contribute to the design process, and support implementation, code review, and testing activities.
- Contribute to frequent high-quality releases, meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and implement features.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions.
- Follow software development best practices, ensuring code quality and adherence to coding standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- Hands-on commercial experience in Java/J2EE (Java version 17+)
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
- Basic knowledge of the Spring Framework and Hibernate.
- Understanding of JMS.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Git/BitBucket.
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle best practices including DDD, TDD, and BDD.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgresSQL or Oracle.
- Experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Familiarity with development tools like VSCode or IntelliJ.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and team collaboration skills.
- Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
Beneficial Experience (Not Mandatory):
- Experience with data processing technologies such as Kafka.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Basic understanding of creating backend data interfaces and ETL processes.
- Knowledge of continuous integration tools such as Jenkins.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Familiarity with AWS/Azure/Cloud-related tools and technologies.
- Experience or knowledge developing with Scala.
