Job Summary:
The Production Manager for the Weaving and Coating Department is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of production within these departments. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and within budget, while meeting quality standards and production targets. The Production Manager will lead a team, coordinate with other departments, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning and Management:
- Develop and implement production schedules for the weaving and coating departments.
- Monitor production processes to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure production targets are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Manage and optimize resource allocation, including manpower, machinery, and materials.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise, train, and mentor production staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Implement quality control processes and conduct regular inspections.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in production processes and implement solutions.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Monitor and analyze production data to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, quality control, and supply chain, to ensure seamless production operations.
- Communicate production status, challenges, and updates to senior management.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns related to production.
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Manage production budgets and control costs.
- Monitor and analyze production expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
- Inventory Management:
- Ensure adequate inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team for timely procurement of materials.
- Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on production performance, including output, quality, and efficiency metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a production management role within the weaving and coating industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials as needed.
Additional Information:
- This position may require occasional overtime and weekend work.
- Flexibility to address production issues outside of regular working hours as needed.
