Key Responsibilities:

Quality Control & Compliance: Monitor the Contractor’s performance, ensuring compliance with specified materials, workmanship, and construction methods. Direct the Contractor on rectification works that do not meet the Consultant’s specified requirements, and issue Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) for deviations, maintaining a tracking system to ensure resolution.

Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the Design Office Team (DOT) and the Contractor, clarifying technical details, resolving design discrepancies on-site, and ensuring smooth project progress. Track and address all requests for information, ensuring timely communication and resolution of issues.

Document Review & Supervision: Review shop drawings, monitor their approval status, and manage any conflicts or discrepancies between contract documents, including specifications, drawings, and schedules. Supervise subordinate site staff, such as the Clerk of Works, and ensure all technical issues are promptly addressed.

Site Reporting & Documentation: Compile and verify Contractor’s site progress reports, submit monthly site progress reports to the DOT, and provide signatory endorsement on Approved As-Built drawings. Attend all testing and commissioning of building services, verify inspection reports, and ensure any required rectification works are tracked and completed.

Third-Party Coordination: Support the Contractor in meetings with third parties, including local authorities, to address technical issues related to building design, ensuring all aspects of the project comply with local regulations and standards.

Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters related to the company, disclosing information only as instructed by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Malaysian citizens only.
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with proven experience as an Inspector of Works, Clerk-of-Works, or similar role in large-scale construction projects.
  • Technically competent in electrical and mechanical building services.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
  • Good understanding of statutory compliance and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Previous experience working in international or remote locations is a plus.
