Project Manager
We are looking for a highly organized and hands-on Project Manager to lead the end-to-end execution of retail store fit-outs across Malaysia. The ideal candidate has experience delivering multiple stores or flagship projects on time and within budget, with strong knowledge of local construction codes, permits, and mall requirements.
You’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating internal and external, managing site progress, and ensuring smooth store handovers, even under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Drawings & Layout
- Collaborate closely with the HQ Interior Design team to fully understand the design vision, brand concept, guidelines, and functional requirements.
- Interpret and review floor plans and technical drawings to ensure layout efficiency, appropriate material selection, and alignment with the overall store concept.
- Ensure all drawings and layouts comply with company design standards, brand identity, and local mall requirements.
2. Project Timeline Adherence
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, clearly outlining key milestones, deadlines, and deliverables for each store fit-out.
- Oversee the entire store setup process, ensuring all tasks are completed according to the agreed timeline.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments and HQ teams to align on timelines, anticipate potential delays, and drive timely execution across all phases.
3. Budget Compliance
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring delivery within the approved financial plan, while optimizing cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and breakdowns based on drawings, materials, construction, and labor, and track expenses throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives where possible, while ensuring no compromise on quality, design integrity, or brand standards.
4. Material Sourcing and Procurement:
- Develop and manage budgets for materials, including furniture, fixtures, and lighting, ensuring all costs are tracked and aligned with the overall project budget.
- Collaborate closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and to meet quality and finishing expectations in line with project specifications.
5. Contractor Performance Management
- Evaluate the reliability, quality, and responsiveness of contractors and vendors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon standards.
- Conduct post-project performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to contractors, maintaining a preferred vendor list and identifying areas for improvement in future projects.
- Coordinate all activities with contractors, including obtaining permits, scheduling work, and overseeing site inspections to ensure smooth execution.
- Address and resolve any issues with contractors promptly, ensuring all work is completed to specifications and quality standards.
6. Communication & Coordination
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end construction timeline, ensuring that all entitlement processes (permits, approvals, handovers, and reinstatements) are completed promptly and without delays.
- Provide consistent and clear updates to all internal departments, as well as vendors, contractors, and HQ teams, ensuring seamless communication across all project stages.
- Conduct bi-weekly progress meetings with key stakeholders to review updates, identify bottlenecks, and delegate actions to ensure the project stays on track.
- Proactively address and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, interior design, or store setup.
