Position Summary:
The Senior Early Childhood Manager plays a vital leadership role in shaping the vision, strategy, and delivery of early childhood education within an international school environment. This position oversees the holistic development of children aged 2–6 years, ensuring a nurturing, inclusive, and globally minded learning atmosphere. The manager works closely with academic leadership, staff, and parents to implement best practices aligned with international curricula and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Educational Leadership
Develop and implement a clear vision for Early Years education in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Ensure the curriculum (e.g., EYFS, IB PYP Early Years, Reggio Emilia, IGCSE, or Montessori) is effectively implemented, culturally inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
Foster a stimulating environment that promotes inquiry-based learning, creativity, emotional well-being, and foundational skills.
Team Management and Professional Growth
Lead and manage a team of early childhood educators and support staff.
Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
Organize and lead staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance teaching practices.
Curriculum Oversight and Quality Assurance
Ensure curriculum planning, assessment, and documentation are consistent with international early years standards.
Monitor teaching and learning through lesson observations, child assessments, and developmental tracking.
Promote continuous improvement through feedback, goal-setting, and reflective practices.
Pastoral Care and Child Safeguarding
Promote a safe, caring, and supportive environment where every child is respected and valued.
Uphold international child protection and safeguarding standards.
Work with counselors and special education staff to support students with additional needs.
Parental and Community Engagement
Establish strong relationships with families through regular communication, workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
Provide guidance to parents on early childhood development and learning at home.
Represent the Early Childhood department in school-wide functions and community events.
Administration and Compliance
Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and international school accreditation bodies.
Oversee enrolment, staffing ratios, class placement, and transition processes.
Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation for the Early Childhood department.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
Minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in early years, with 2–3 years in a leadership role, preferably in an international school.
In-depth knowledge of international curricula and child-centered pedagogies.
Strong intercultural awareness and ability to work with a diverse school community.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Current First Aid/CPR and safeguarding certifications.
