JOB OVERVIEW

The position holder will be responsible for providing full executive and research support to the organization’s leadership including the Group Managing Director (GMD) on a day-to-day basis. He/she will anticipate the needs and requirements of the senior leadership and carry out the job specifications with a high level of maturity and agility. The position holder will also have the ability to undertake research, develop reports, draft PowerPoint presentations, develop talking points, put together briefing packs for meetings, and draft minutes of meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, in partnership with the Executive Assistant, an active calendar of appointments to ensure the senior leadership’s schedule is followed and respected.
  • Coordinate meetings, develop reports and briefing packs, prepare talking points and presentations ahead of internal and external meetings, as required.
  • Proactively follow-up on important tasks and deadlines within the senior leadership’s portfolio to ensure timely execution.
  • Coordinate, support execution and completion of strategic projects and programmed according to strict deadlines and budgets, ensuring achievement of agreed objectives.
  • Report on the progress and impact of active projects and activities in a timely manner.
  • Undertake research as directed by the senior leadership and produce high quality reports.
  • Facilitate seamless communication from the senior leadership’s office to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective messaging.
  • Attend internal and off-site meetings with the senior leadership, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Undertake specific projects or tasks as directed by the senior leadership, from time to time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a corporate or financial sector role
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience – reporting to senior leadership of a medium to large sized business entity.
  • Has lead small teams on a permanent or ad-hoc basis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Management or a relevant degree with the willingness to embark on executive and research support functions with minimal support.
  • Strong numeracy skills, a background in especially in finance and accounting is an advantage
  • Strong analytical insights with the ability to form broader strategic vision
  • Strong research skills with the ability to produce reports quickly and accurately.
  • High level of confidence with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent ability to take minutes at meetings and manage follow-up actions.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint. Skills in PowerBI is an advantage.
  • Ability to work within a complex, fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Strong ability to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and schedules.
