JOB SUMMARY
The Principal holds comprehensive responsibility for all aspects of school operations either directly or indirectly. This includes:

  • Structuring the detailed organization of the school
  • Developing the instructional program
  • Assigning and supervising staff duties
  • Overseeing the overall day-to-day operations of the school

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and School Climate

  • Work towards achieving the objectives outlined in the School’s Annual Business Plan, policies, and strategic direction, as set by the Council of Education (COE) / Board of Management (BoM).
  • Continuously strive to enhance the operational efficiency of the school.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including operational licenses and other relevant laws governing private schools.
  • Stay updated with current educational practices and administrative methods by attending professional development sessions, meetings, and reviewing educational literature.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate policy changes within the scope of responsibility.
  • When not teaching, dedicate time to supervising school operations, observing instructional practices, and supporting overall school improvement.
  • Support and guide student leaders and teaching staff.
  • Regularly engage with parents and administrative staff to resolve issues and maintain clear communication.
  • Uphold transparent and accountable internal governance processes.

2. Program and Curriculum Development

  • Ensure academic policies and the curriculum are implemented effectively.
  • Develop and monitor key performance benchmarks to measure institutional success.
  • Coordinate and promote the development of academic programs tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of students, including specialized programs such as special education.
  • Support teaching staff in developing, modifying, and selecting appropriate curriculum materials. Keep the management team informed of any curriculum changes.
  • Encourage strong student morale by facilitating curricular and co-curricular activities, and involve staff in organizing and supporting these activities.

3. Student Management and Supervision

  • Foster a school environment that promotes student self-discipline.
  • Exercise disciplinary authority over students during school hours, school transport, and all school-sanctioned activities.
  • Oversee student organizations and ensure their activities align with school policies.
  • Ensure adequate supervision of students on school premises, during transit, and throughout school-related events and field trips.
  • Create an inclusive, unbiased environment where all students can reach their full potential.
  • Maintain open communication with students and address their concerns consistently.

4. Human Resources

  • Conduct performance evaluations for teaching staff and identify areas for professional development.
  • Provide leadership in recruitment, onboarding, and training of academic staff.
  • Set and monitor performance targets and objectives for teachers and other school personnel.

5. Financial Management

  • Oversee the planning and management of the school’s annual budget.
  • Propose and justify budget allocations for instructional materials, staffing, equipment, and other operational needs.
  • Evaluate and approve budget-related requests within the allocated funding framework.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education, Teaching, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of proven leadership experience in education management.
  • Strong leadership, multitasking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with staff, students, and parents.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and inspire teams.
  • Sound knowledge of school administrative procedures and national education regulations.
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with School Management Systems (SMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is an added advantage.

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
