Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and resourceful Base Camp Manager to oversee the daily operations of a remote base camp. This role is essential in supporting field teams, ensuring logistical efficiency, safety, and overall camp functionality in challenging, off-grid environments. Ideal for someone with a strong background in expedition support, field logistics, or remote hospitality.

Key Responsibilities – Base Camp Manager

Camp Setup & Maintenance

  • Establish and maintain all camp facilities including accommodation, kitchen, sanitation, and communal areas.
  • Ensure camp is well-organized, clean, and fully operational at all times.

Logistics & Supply Management

  • Coordinate transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies to and from camp.
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee resupply operations efficiently.

Personnel Oversight

  • Supervise camp staff including cooks, cleaners, porters, and security personnel.
  • Schedule shifts and ensure staff welfare and productivity.

Health, Safety & OSH Compliance

  • Implement and enforce Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards in all camp operations.
  • Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and drills (e.g. fire, medical evacuation).
  • Ensure proper waste disposal, food hygiene, water safety, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on safety incidents and compliance reporting.

Guest & Team Support

  • Welcome and brief incoming staff, visitors, or expedition teams on camp protocols and safety.
  • Support day-to-day needs including food, water, and communication access.

Emergency Response & First Aid

  • Act as the first point of contact in emergency situations and coordinate evacuation or medical assistance.
  • Maintain stocked and accessible first aid kits and emergency supplies.

Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain daily logs of activities, incidents, inventory, and staff movements.
  • Serve as the key contact point between camp and headquarters or field teams.

Environmental & Cultural Awareness

  • Respect and promote sustainable practices in waste management and resource usage.
  • Ensure camp operations are sensitive to local communities and ecosystems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
