Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced IT Manager (Hardware) to lead and manage all hardware-related aspects of our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our hardware assets across all our business units. Also responsible for overseeing the company’s computer networks and improving the network systems. Responsibilities: Hardware Procurement and Deployment: - Lead the procurement, deployment, and configuration of IT hardware including servers, desktops, laptops, POS systems, network devices, and peripherals. - Develop and implement hardware standardization policies and procedures for consistency and efficiency. Maintenance and Lifecycle Management: - Oversee maintenance and lifecycle management of IT hardware to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation. - Conduct regular audits and assessments of hardware to identify issues and optimize system performance. Budget Management and Vendor Negotiation: - Manage hardware budgets effectively, ensuring cost-efficient solutions without compromising quality. - Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms for hardware procurement and maintenance contracts. Technical Support and Collaboration: - Collaborate closely with software teams to ensure hardware and software compatibility and integration. - Provide technical support and guidance to various departments including manufacturing, retail operations, and restaurants. Disaster Recovery Planning: - Develop and implement robust disaster recovery plans for hardware systems to minimize business disruptions during emergencies. Team Management (if applicable): - Lead and mentor a team of IT support technicians, ensuring they are well-trained and capable of providing effective support. Overseeing the Networking System - Stay up-to-date on the latest hardware technologies and trends - Developing new network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce downtime and maintenance costs - Creating rational strategies for upgrading the company’s network software whenever a new update is available - Constructing and implementing plans to ensure the company’s network continues to operate smoothly in the event of any problems - Staying up to date with new network technology and reporting this information to the Managing Director quarterly - Working closely with other department Managers to assess the growth needs and maintenance of the company’s network - Setting up, managing, and troubleshooting the technology systems that a business uses to maintain computer and software networks - Respond to hardware problems, update system software, and tracking the data and communications used on the network - Maintain internet connectivity, back up information, and troubleshoot glitches and other problems - Audit system behaviour and monitor firewalls to protect sensitive information and uphold cybersecurity protocols Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or VMware certifications are a plus. - Minimum 5-7 years of proven experience in IT hardware management, preferably in a diverse and fast-paced environment. - Strong expertise in server deployment, maintenance, and virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V). - Proficiency in managing network hardware including firewalls (Fortinet, Sophos), switches, and routers. - Experience with POS systems, backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Acronis), and enterprise storage systems (EMC, HP). - Familiarity with ITIL practices and principles is advantageous. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a dynamic team environment. - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
