Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities: • Execute project planning, site investigations, preliminary design, and cost estimation for mechanical works, including: i. Air Conditioning, Refrigerating & Mechanical Ventilation Systems ii. Fire Fighting & Prevention Systems iii. Cold/Hot Water & Water Reticulation Systems iv. Sanitary and Waste Disposal Systems v. Lifts, Escalators, Hoists, and Dumbwaiters vi. Waste and Water Treatment Systems • Perform detailed design and engineering calculations for mechanical building services in assigned projects, ensuring all technical aspects are compliant and efficient. • Ensure all mechanical systems and designs meet local codes, international codes, standards, and guidelines. • Lead and manage the mechanical engineering aspects of projects, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget. • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, ensuring successful completion. • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution. • Lead risk management efforts and implement mitigation strategies when necessary. • Prepare and present progress reports to clients and senior management, ensuring clear communication on milestones and progress. • Provide leadership, technical guidance and ensuring technical challenges are addressed effectively. Qualifications & Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering • Professional Engineer (PEPC) certification is an added advantage. • Extensive experience in the design and management of mechanical systems, including HVAC, fire fighting, water reticulation, and waste disposal systems. • Strong knowledge of local and international codes, standards, and best practices. • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, etc.). • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
