SAFETY & HEALTH OFFICER (SHO) – BARISAN GEMILANG CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD WORK LOCATION: SITE OFFICE JKR LABUAN FULL TIME POSITION About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to join Barisan Gemilang Construction Sdn Bhd as Safety & Health Officer (SHO). In this full-time position based in Site Office JKR Labuan, you will involve in developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health regulations. SHOs are responsible for creating a safe working environment by identifying hazards, implementing control measures, and promoting a safety culture. They also investigate accidents and incidents, and provide training and education to employees. What You’ll Be Doing 1) SHOs create and enforce safety procedures and systems to ensure a safe workplace. 2) They identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them. 3) Regular inspections are conducted to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify potential issues. 4) SHOs investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement preventative measures. 5) They educate employees on safety procedures, regulations, and best practices. 6) SHOs foster a positive safety culture within the organization, encouraging employee involvement and participation. 7) SHOs ensure that the workplace complies with all relevant occupational safety and health regulations and standards. 8) They maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and other relevant documentation. 9) SHOs provide advice to employers on how to meet their legal and regulatory obligations related to safety and health. 10) To carry out any other instruction made by the employer or any person in charge of the place of work on any matters pertaining to safety and health of the place of work. What We’re Looking For 1) A Diploma or Degree or professional certificate in Safety & Health Officer. 2) A minimum of 3 years of related working experience in the field of construction. 3) Must be registered with DOSH. 4) Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English. 5) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
