His work ensures that the directives issued by project management and engineering teams are translated into practical, high-quality on-ground construction results. ________________________________________ LIST OF DUTIES • Execute and supervise civil and Rail systems-related construction activities on-site. • Read and implement construction drawings and specifications. • Assist in installation and setup of rail and System components, including foundations, ducting, equipment bases, and cable routing. • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards. • Operate tools and construction equipment safely and efficiently. • Coordinate daily activities with site supervisors and engineers. • Report progress, site issues, and material requirements regularly. • Conduct routine inspections to ensure construction accuracy and adherence to design. • Support testing, installation, and commissioning of railway systems as required. • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the construction site. ________________________________________ ‘ KEY FUNCTIONAL AREAS • Field Execution: Construct and install railway components such as tracks, overhead lines, signalling systems, and communication networks. • Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on rail systems and equipment. Diagnose and repair faults in infrastructure components. Replace or renew defective parts to ensure operational reliability. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, including the Rail and System Codes of Practice and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations. Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards during all activities • Team Coordination: 1. Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to execute rail infrastructure projects efficiently. 2. Maintain open communication channels within the team to share updates, issues, and progress. 3. Understand assigned roles within a team structure and execute duties accordingly. 4. Assist in delegating tasks during joint projects to optimize team productivity. 5. Coordinate with signal, electrical, mechanical, and civil specialists to ensure integrated system functionality. 6. Support other technical teams during inspections, testing, and emergencies. 7. Mentor junior technicians or apprentices when required. 8. Share knowledge and best practices to enhance team capabilities and foster a learning culture. • Technical Support: Provides on-ground technical solutions on System and Rail components, measurement verification, and material handling expertise. • Documentation: Keeps accurate records of work completed, incidents, and daily reports. ________________________________________ DESCRIPTION OF RELATIONSHIPS Internal Relationships • Site Engineers – Receive instructions and share updates on daily progress and challenges. • Supervisors – Collaborate for task planning and issue resolution. • Technicians/Labor Teams – Coordinate with team members for smooth task execution. External Relationships • Subcontractors – Assist in aligning their work with site requirements and timelines. • Material Suppliers – Report on-site material status and support unloading/verification. • Client Representatives (when required) – Support site walkthroughs or inspections by presenting current progress or responding to basic technical questions.
