Project Manager oversees the planning, execution, and completion of construction and M&E projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in M&E systems, and experience in construction project management. Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Coordination - Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for construction and M&E installations. - Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. - Review blueprints, contracts, and specifications to ensure compliance. - Conduct site assessments and risk evaluations. 2. Team & Subcontractor Management - Lead on-site construction / M&E crews, ensuring efficient workflow. - Hire, supervise, and evaluate subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, M&E technicians). - Conduct regular progress meetings and provide clear direction to teams. 3. Budget & Cost Control - Monitor project expenses and adjust to stay within budget. - Approve purchase orders, invoices, and change orders. - Track labour, materials, and equipment costs. 4. Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure all work meets building codes, safety regulations (OSHA), and M&E standards. - Conduct inspections and quality checks on M&E installations (ductwork, refrigeration, controls). - Address defects or deviations from project specifications. 5. Client & Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing concerns. - Prepare and present progress reports to senior management. - Resolve disputes with clients, subcontractors, or inspectors. 6. Safety & Risk Management - Enforce strict safety protocols for construction and M&E work. - Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions. - Ensure proper permitting and regulatory compliance. 7. Project Documentation & Handover - Maintain records (daily logs, change orders, inspection reports). - Ensure lists are completed, and projects are delivered on time. - Oversee final inspections, client handover, and warranty documentation. Qualifications & Skills - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (PM certification preferred, e.g., PMP, CAPM shall be added advantage). - Experience 5-10 years in construction project management, with M&E specific experience. - Technical Skills - Proficient in M&E systems including ductwork, chillers, boilers, ventilation. - Familiarity with construction software (Procore, AutoCAD, MS Project). - Knowledge of building codes and M&E standards. - Soft Skills - Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities. - Excellent communication (verbal/written) and negotiation skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Work Environment / Pattern - Office and field-based (regular visits to construction sites). - May require overtime or weekend work to meet project deadlines.
