Key Responsibilities 1. Safety Compliance & Enforcement - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, company policies). - Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards (fall risks, electrical hazards, improper PPE use). - Stop unsafe work activities and enforce corrective actions. 2. Training & Safety Program - Organize and conduct safety orientations for new hires and subcontractors. - Deliver toolbox talks and training for site personnel. - Maintain training records and certifications. 3. Incident Prevention & Response - Investigate near-misses, accidents, and injuries; prepare reports with root cause analysis. - Recommend preventive measures to reduce workplace risks. - Coordinate emergency response drills (fire, chemical spills, first aid). 4. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain safety logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation. - Submit weekly/monthly safety reports to HSE Manager. - Ensure proper permitting for high-risk work (hot work, excavation). 5. Equipment & PPE Oversight - Verify that safety equipment (harnesses, fire extinguishers, signage) is functional and accessible. - Monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel. - Inspect machinery and tools for safety compliance. 6. Collaboration with Site Management - Work with project managers and related site personnel to integrate safety into daily operations. - Participate in safety committee meetings and risk assessments. - Liaise with regulatory inspectors (OSHA, BOMBA). Qualifications & Skills - SPM or diploma (required); diploma in Occupational Safety. - OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) a plus. - 2-3 years in construction safety supervision (commercial/industrial projects). Technical Skills - Proficient in OSHA standards and hazard mitigation. - Soft Skills - Strong communication and leadership to manage safe behaviour. - Detail-oriented with problem-solving abilities. - Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments. Work Environment / Pattern - 90% on-site (field-based, exposed to weather/construction hazards). - 10% office (reporting, meetings). - May require overtime or weekend / public holiday coverage.
