Procurement Executive/Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction and engineering projects. This role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, timely delivery, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, construction industry knowledge, and supplier management experience. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management - Identify and evaluate suppliers for construction materials (steel, cement, electrical), MEP (mechanical/electrical/plumbing) components, and heavy equipment. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers. - Conduct supplier audits to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with safety/environmental standards. 2. Cost Control & Negotiation - Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings without compromising quality. - Analyse market trends and price fluctuations in order to anticipate procurement risks. - Compare quotes and prepare cost-benefit analyses for decision-making. 3. Purchase Order & Inventory Management - Process purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites. - Coordinate with project managers to align procurement with project schedules. - Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. 4. Compliance & Documentation - Ensure procurement aligns with company policies, industry standards (ISO, etc), and legal requirements. - Maintain records of purchases, contracts, warranties, and supplier certifications. - Resolve discrepancies (e.g., damaged goods, incorrect shipments) with suppliers. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work with engineering teams to review material specifications and technical requirements. - Liaise with logistics teams to optimize transportation and reduce delays. - Support budgeting and financial reporting by providing procurement data. Qualifications & Skills - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field. - 3–5 years in procurement, preferably in construction, engineering. - Proficiency in procurement software (ERP) and MS Excel (pivot tables) - Knowledge of construction materials, MEP systems, and equipment. Soft Skills - Strong negotiation and analytical abilities. - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Work Location: Batu Kawan office-based (May require to travel occasionally) May require extended hours during peak project phases.
