ITES Competent Person

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure adherence to local health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis in operational areas.
• Lead safety audits and inspections of ITES facilities and equipment.
• Operational Oversight:
• Ensure all equipment (e.g., power backup, HVAC, fire suppression, data racks) meets safety and operational standards.
• Supervise work involving electrical, mechanical, and IT systems as required.
• Authorize and oversee high-risk activities (e.g., work at height, confined space work) where applicable.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and incidents.
• Prepare compliance reports and present findings to senior management.
• Update standard operating procedures and safety manuals regularly.
• Training & Coordination:
• Train staff on safety procedures and emergency response.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors, technicians, and facility managers.
• Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.

Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/IT), or a related field.
• Certifications: NEBOSH/IOSH, OSHA, or local safety certification preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years in a technical, safety, or operations role within ITES, BPO, or a related industry.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of workplace safety standards.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance management tools.

Desirable Attributes:

• Prior experience in a data center or large ITES environment.
• Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 45001).
• Ability to respond effectively under pressure in emergency situations.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month

• Day shift
• Night shift
