Store Assistant Job Description
Position Overview:
The Store Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the store. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases.
- Provide product information and recommendations based on customer needs.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor complaints professionally.
- Promote store loyalty programs and special offers to customers.
2. Sales Support:
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Assist with returns, exchanges, and refunds as per store policies.
- Monitor sales floor activity and provide support during busy periods.
3. Stock Management:
- Receive, unpack, and organize stock deliveries.
- Restock shelves and ensure products are displayed neatly and correctly.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the Store Manager.
- Assist in conducting regular stock audits to minimize losses.
4. Store Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store.
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Ensure displays and promotional materials are well-maintained and visually appealing.
5. Personal Grooming and Professionalism:
- Adhere to the store's grooming and dress code standards.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
6. Business Ethics and Compliance:
- Conduct all tasks with honesty and integrity.
- Respect company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
7. Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Provide support to the Store Manager and other team members as needed.
8. Promotional Activities:
- Assist in setting up promotional displays and in-store events.
- Inform customers about ongoing promotions and special offers.
- Help ensure promotional activities are executed smoothly and effectively.
9. Security and Loss Prevention:
- Monitor the store for potential security risks and report concerns promptly.
- Follow loss prevention protocols to safeguard store assets.
10. Administrative Support:
- Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing and record-keeping.
- Help prepare daily sales reports and other documentation as required.
11. Conflict Resolution:
- Address minor disputes or misunderstandings with customers or colleagues.
- Escalate complex issues to the Store Manager for resolution.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bukit Jalil: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Education:
- STM/STPM (Preferred)
Experience:
- Retail sales: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:
- English (Preferred)
- Mandarin (Preferred)
