The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of a factory or manufacturing facility. The person on this position is accountable for managing production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and meeting production targets. The Factory Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing resources, implementing safety measures, and maintaining a smooth workflow within the facility.

Responsibilities

Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the factory, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and efficiency goals.
  • Continuously review and improve operational procedures to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

Production Planning and Control

  • Develop and implement production plans, considering factors such as demand, capacity, and resource availability.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., procurement, logistics) to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.

Quality Control and Assurance

  • Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.

Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, conducting regular safety training and promoting a culture of safety awareness.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management

  • Oversee inventory management processes, including stock monitoring, ordering, and stocktaking.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to streamline the flow of materials and finished goods in and out of the factory.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports on production performance, highlighting areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments by reporting.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and supervise a team of production staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and employee engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications & Requirements (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge,Etc)

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or factory management role.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain concepts.
  • Advanced level of verbal and written English (C1).
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or shifts as needed.
