Product Manager (Drill / End mills / Inserts)
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Product Manager to oversee one of our core product lines: drills, end mills, or inserts. You will be assigned to manage one of these product categories. You’ll be responsible for the full product lifecycle, including identifying new opportunities, conducting market research, defining product specs, managing production timelines, setting pricing, and developing launch strategies. You will work closely with teams in R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to optimize the current product portfolio and identify opportunities for new product developments and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Product Lifecycles: Oversee the performance of your assigned product line (drills, end mills, or inserts), collaborating with the Sales team to monitor sales, address product obsolescence, and continuously improve the offerings.
- Market Intelligence: Lead strategic planning for your product line by gathering market insights through research and customer engagement and working closely with the local sales team. Use these insights to identify new trends and opportunities for product improvement or development.
- New Product Development: Take charge of developing new products for your assigned line, from concept to launch. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet market needs and business objectives.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment and smooth execution of product goals and strategies.
- Project Leadership: Lead the commercialization of new products by analyzing market needs, defining product features, and setting timelines. Collaborate with development and IT teams to bring products to market on schedule.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in data analysis (Excel is a must) and comfortable with Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Creative and business-savvy, focused on driving results and product success.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in sales, marketing, or production within the cutting tool, metalworking, or precision engineering industries is highly beneficial.
- A customer-centric mindset with the ability to leverage insights from customer feedback to drive product development.
- A solid understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure product designs are aligned with production capabilities and cost constraints.
- Language: English proficiency is required; additional languages are a plus.
Education & Experience:
- Experience: At least 3-5 years in product management, ideally within the metalworking, precision engineering, or related industries. Experience with cutting tools (drills, end mills, or inserts) is a significant advantage.
- Education: A degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Mechatronics, Material Science, or a similar engineering field is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the cutting tool or metalworking industries is a plus, along with a solid understanding of industry trends and customer needs.
