Data Center Engineer
About the role:
As a Data Centre Operations Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the infrastructure running smoothly across multiple countries. This is a travel-intensive field role where you'll be responsible for on-site troubleshooting, installation, deinstallation, and general system support in various data centres.

Responsibilities:
- Travel regionally to perform onsite installation, troubleshooting, and deinstallation of equipment.
- Execute Layer 1 connectivity support and ensure proper cable management.
- Perform system administration duties, including OS patching, upgrades, diagnostics, and performance monitoring.
- Deploy and configure network devices, servers, and other hardware.
- Build and assemble server hardware and perform operating system installations.
- Support both physical and virtual customer environments.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work activities and installation plans (e.g. via Spreadsheets/Visio).
- Monitor and escalate critical incidents, ensuring resolution follows SOPs
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Mandarin (written & spoken) — a must for communicating with China-based clients.
- Fresh graduates in IT, Computer Science, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- 1–2 years of experience in data centre or IT infrastructure roles is a plus.
- Open to frequent regional travel (domestic/international).
- Willingness to work non-standard hours, weekends or public holidays as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Physically able to work in a data centre environment — long hours standing, kneeling, or moving equipment.
