Assistant Manager, Legal

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and/or vetting agreements to be entered into the Group, in order to minimize legal liability for DNeX group and its subsidiaries.
• Preparing and/or vetting, as may be required from time to time by the Group, relevant correspondences to be issued to third parties in order to protect the interests of the Group and to minimize legal liability for the Group.
• Participate in negotiation meetings regarding i) Comments suggestions/status of agreements particularly on legal/commercial issues for purposes of their approval and input. ii) Comments/suggestions/status of legal matters other than agreements, particularly on litigation and/or litigation threatened matters for purposes of the next course of action to be taken in relevant situations.
• Liaising with external solicitors on legal matters affecting the Group, including litigation, business disputes and other matters assigned to external solicitors.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Law, Legal or equivalent from reputable educational institutions.
• Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya is an added advantage
• Required skill(s): Strong legal drafting and vetting skills especially for commercial contracts, agreements, and corporate documents. Ability to manage or support ongoing and threatened litigation matters.
• Key quality(s): Strong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent command in writing. Good analytical, reporting, planning, and problem-solving skills. Have ability to work independently and proactively. Able to build strong relationships with managements across different levels. Have a good commercial insight
• Required language(s): Excellent in English language both in speaking and writing is mandatory with a good command in Malay
• Desired experience/exposure: Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in legal practice and/or in-house counsel. Professional legal knowledge and working experience in any of the following areas of law, contract, and commercial, company, intellectual property, conveyancing, land, tort, information technology, dispute resolution and/or litigation.
