Purpose of Job

This role will be responsible for supporting the finance team with various financial and accounting tasks, including reporting, tax compliance, audits and insurance-related financial activities. This role will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while continuing to the company’s financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting data entry in the accounting system related to AR, AP, Cashbook and GL, Accrual and Payments, Invoice and Receipts.
  • Prepare and process payment (wire transfers, petty cash, etc.) and ensure payments are made on time.
  • Maintain proper accounting record and filing of financial files, records and relevant documents.
  • Assist in monthly financial closing, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Handle SST (Sales & Service Tax) submissions and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support audit and tax-related processes, including documentation and coordination with auditors.
  • Perform balance sheet (BS) and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify and process data in the Novidea system (insurance broking software).
  • Assist in BNM (Bank Negara Malaysia) submissions and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes.
  • Support other insurance-related financial activities as required.
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and other duties, as assigned.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant company and/or group policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and correspondence.

Representing the Company

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, taxation (SST) and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, able to work under pressure
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; prior internship experience in finance/accounting is a plus.
