Director of Finance & Business Support
This role is responsible for overseeing the hotel’s financial operations to safeguard assets, provide strategic financial reporting to the General Manager and ownership, and recommend actions to enhance profitability. Acts as the primary point of contact for all financial and accounting matters involving owners, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
People
Lead and support the finance team through daily operations, performance management, and training to drive revenue goals and improve overall team effectiveness.
Financial
Use financial analysis and market trends to identify issues and recommend actions to improve profitability. Develop the annual budget, support cost-saving initiatives, and analyze ROI for capital projects. Manage cash flow through inventory, credit, disbursements, and deposits. Advise on rate strategies and participate in sales meetings
Guest Experience
Respond to guest requests promptly and ensure they’re satisfied. Support billing, payments, and solve any financial issues.
Responsible Business
- Ensure compliance with accounting practices, financial controls, and audits. Manage hotel contracts and participate in professional industry organizations Accountability
- This is the main accounting role in a large hotel, overseeing tasks like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other accounting function
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting, Finance
- 4-8 years in hotel accounting or audit with at least one year in an Assistant Controller or similar supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Knowledge of accounting management duties such as negotiating hotel space and tenant leases; processing payroll; performing asset management duties; providing business projections, displacement analysis, preparing government reports, filing tax returns, etc. as needed or requested. Professional accounting or finance designation or certification preferred.
- Must speak local language(s).
- Other languages preferred.
