The Legal Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, minimizing risk, and providing sound legal guidance to support the company’s operations, strategic initiatives, and growth objectives. The role will be responsible for a range of pivotal responsibilities including tasks such as contract management, provide legal counsel to the organization, manage legal aspects of product development and overseeing mergers and acquisitions by conducting due diligence and negotiations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contract reviewing, drafting, and negotiating legally binding agreements on behalf of the corporation.
• Mergers and acquisitions (M&A): Conducting due diligence, negotiating, drafting, and generally overseeing M&A deals.
• Corporate governance creates the framework for how a firm is directed and controlled, such as by drafting articles of incorporation, creating bylaws, advising corporate directors and officers on their rights and responsibilities, and other policies used to manage the company.
• Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal matters with a specific focus on FMCG industry operations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to assess potential risks and implications of business decisions, contracts, and agreements.
• Monitor and stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the FMCG sector, and advise the organization accordingly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on issues related to intellectual property, consumer protection, advertising, marketing, and product labelling.
• Assess and manage legal risks associated with product development, packaging, labelling, and advertising campaigns.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders as necessary to address legal issues and represent the organization's interests.
• Ensure the organization's compliance with relevant data protection and privacy laws, including managing data breaches and incident response activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB, JD, or equivalent).Brownie point if obtained Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Advisor or in a similar legal role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong proficiency in Mandarin and English are essential, as the role requires communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders from China.
• In-depth knowledge of FMCG industry regulations, laws, and best practices.
• Familiarity with intellectual property, consumer protection, advertising, and marketing laws and regulations.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements with precision and attention to detail.
