About Us
Kaleo is a health-focused meal delivery startup built on the science of nutrition. We design thoughtfully curated, calorie-specific menus (1000-2500 kcal) and deliver fresh, balanced meals to customers every two days. Our menus follow a 30-day rotation with no repeats - diverse, functional, and rooted in real nutrition.
We're in our exciting early-stage phase, launching from a fully-equipped shared kitchen facility in Kuala Lumpur. This is a rare opportunity to build culinary systems from the ground up - testing, optimizing, and scaling into a full in-house operation. Your Role
- Develop and manage a 30-day rotating menu tailored to different calorie levels and health goals
- Create standardized recipes, portions, and plating systems with a strong focus on flavor and presentation
- Set up and run a smooth, efficient kitchen optimized for delivery-style batch cooking
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing kitchen team
- Manage food costs, portion control, and minimize waste
- Build strong supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee procurement
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and health regulations
- Continuously innovate new dishes using seasonal, nutrient-dense ingredients
- Stay updated on food trends, especially within functional and clean-label cooking
- Collaborate on culinary budgeting and strategic planning

Who We're Looking For
- An experienced, professional Head Chef with strong kitchen operations experience
- Strong knowledge and experience in European cuisine
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Deep passion for nutrition, macronutrient balance, and food that supports wellness
- Strong grasp of modern healthy cuisine: sugar-free, gluten-free, plant-based, high-protein, low-GI, etc.
- Skilled in creating menus from scratch and leading small, efficient kitchen teams
- Confident with sourcing, costing, and financial kitchen performance
- Comfortable in early-stage startup environments (shared kitchen, evolving systems)
- Strong communicator and team player who thrives on collaboration and excellence
