This person is responsible for strategizing marketing communications plans and objectives to create a favourable market positioning for the hotel in line with the brand’s image. It involves promoting and maintaining good communications to enhance the prestigious image of the hotel and by doing so, contributing to the profitability of the hotel. Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a good local and international media network and strategies to enhance the brand image, heighten brand awareness and work towards specific measurable KPI’s. Will also be expected to maintain effective communication with major media representatives.
  • Act as official spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate and responds to all media enquiries. Act as the key media contact for crisis or issues management and is solely responsible for maintaining the crisis manual. Plan and organise media training and crisis management training for the Executive Committee.
  • Develop integrated marketing communications plans. This includes determining communications objectives, developing strategic initiatives and developing the message in accordance with hotel’s mission and objectives.
  • Develop advertising plans with business objectives in mind, including selecting and developing appropriate messages for respective business segments.
  • Consult and collaborate with other departments in conceptualising and developing appropriate branding/tactical campaigns towards achieving business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain international media liaison programme to develop hotel’s global branding awareness.
  • Play a key role in representing the hotel in the press events/trips organised by the regional PR offices, initiated on behalf of hotel or linked to relevant partners / trade shows.
  • Plan and oversee management of department’s budget including monthly forecasting accruals of expenses.
  • Interact with individuals within and outside the hotel, including but not limited to owners, management company associates, advertising agency/vendors, media, clients, government offices (STB), competitors and other members of the local government and business community (JMA) in the interests of the hotel to propose/negotiate collaboration opportunities. Play a key role in identifying and managing community or government relations programmes.
  • Oversee image library maintenance ensuring photography uphold the standards as established by the corporate office.
  • Oversee hotel collateral developed, ensuring adherence to brand identity guidelines.
  • Supervise, train, guide and mentor the department’s associates
