Job Purpose
To ensure that investment-operations processes run smoothly, improving processes and procedures, implement best practices and help organisation processes remain legally compliant.
The Role
- Assist in ensuring the smooth operation of daily trade processing, settlements, monitoring of corporate actions, stock holdings reconciliation and portfolio valuation.
- Perform daily operations and reconciliation of treasury, fixed income securities, forward foreign exchange, derivatives and corporate loans.
- Handle new account openings with financial institutions, which includes updating the Standard Settlement Instructions and the list of authorized signatories.
- Accountability on checking margin calls and interest earned on margin calls between the company and counterparties
- Carry out Eagle Investment System operational activities. Perform and support Investment Book of Record (IBOR) and non-IBOR data services to ensure data quality as part of business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
- Participate and get involved in system enhancements, UAT testing to prevent manual intervention as to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in reviewing department Policies and SOPs and audit requirements.
- Champion culture and conduct behavioral expectations within the Department/Division.
- Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
- Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
- Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
- Other responsibilities entailed
The Person
- Possess a recognised Degree in Accounting or Finance or Investment.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in operations or corporate actions.
- Knowledge in Bloomberg terminal usage, Eagle Investment Systems and Microsoft Excel VBA would be an added advantage.
- Experience in insurance industry an added advantage.
- Demonstrates alignment with the organisation’s core values through expected behaviours
