Back End Lead | Core Support
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the support and maintenance of core backend systems.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Ensure the performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.
- Mentor and guide junior support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation.
Other Responsibilities:
- Configure and maintain the core system to ensure it meets business requirements.
- Manage the integration of the core system with other applications and services.
- Monitor the performance and stability of the core system, addressing any issues promptly.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure the availability of the core system.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the core system.
- Liaise with vendors for system updates, patches, and support.
- Monitor the vendor’s performance and ensure the SLA is followed according to contract
- Liaise with developers and deploy the new products/enhancements to the production environment
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Malaysian citizen.
- Pass Malay Language including oral test at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field recognized by the government from any local or abroad higher learning institution.
- Have more than 10 years of experience in Back End as a system developer or system support in banking industries and preferably with the Silverlake Core Banking System.
- certifications with IBM with regard to DB2, SQL, AS400 iSeries are a plus.
- Experience and business & technical knowledge of core banking systems are a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, AS400 platform and RPG language for core system
- Knowledge of database management and optimization
- Knowledge in online/batch systems
- Familiarity with version control like ALDON
Analytical Skills:
- Ability to analyze system specifications and resolve system issues
- Meticulous in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data and systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and generating actionable insights
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements
- Ability to lead the backend support team effectively
