
Compliance Executive
Position : Legal and Compliance Officer
Salary : RM 4,000 – RM 6,000
Location : Kuala Lumpur
Job Scope
· Review, draft, structure, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts (e.g., NDAs, service agreements, leases), aligning with company goals and timelines.
· Liaise with internal teams and external clients to support contract negotiations and address legal queries.
· Provide practical legal advice on operational matters, including disputes and commercial risks.
· Assist in establishing and maintaining a contracts management process to enhance legal efficiency and compliance.
· Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory changes affecting recruitment and real estate operations.
· Advise on intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, AML, and cybersecurity matters.
· Contribute to compliance initiatives, drafting internal policies aligned with local and international regulations.
· Perform due diligence, KYC checks, and transaction monitoring under AML/CFT requirements.
· Conduct customer screening, EDD, and investigate/report suspicious activities.
· Collaborate with legal, compliance, audit, and operations teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
· Deliver basic legal and compliance training sessions to promote awareness and culture of compliance.
· Prepare and coordinate compliance reporting and maintain audit-ready documentation.
· Evaluate legal aspects of new business opportunities and recommend solutions to mitigate risk.
· Handle any other legal or compliance-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
· Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and admitted to the bar.
· 3–5 years post-qualification experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles.
· Preferred industries: real estate, financial services, or multinational corporations.
· Professional AML/CFT certification is a plus.
· Prior experience as a legal assistant, executive, or associate.
· In-house and litigation experience strongly preferred.
· Excellent legal analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
· Ability to multitask and remain agile in a fast-paced business environment.
