Job Title: Chief Storage & Infrastructure Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Storage & Infrastructure Specialist to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level storage and infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale data center environments, including SAN/NAS storage systems, cloud storage, backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, virtualization, and server infrastructure. This role plays a key part in maintaining system reliability, performance, scalability, and security for business-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Object Storage).
  • Manage the enterprise infrastructure portfolio including servers, storage systems, backup, disaster recovery, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Define and implement backup, DR, and archival strategies in line with RTO/RPO requirements.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets performance SLAs and complies with cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory standards (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Collaborate with application, database, and security teams to ensure high availability and efficient data storage across all platforms.
  • Optimize storage utilization, conduct capacity planning, and recommend improvements based on business and growth needs.
  • Oversee infrastructure upgrades, patching, and end-of-life asset refreshes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and participate in procurement evaluations for storage hardware/software and services.
  • Lead a team of infrastructure engineers and act as a technical escalation point.
  • Monitor and report on infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk).
  • Contribute to strategic IT planning and budgeting initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with at least 5 years in a senior or lead storage/infrastructure role.
  • Hands-on expertise in storage technologies: NetApp, EMC, IBM, Dell, HPE 3PAR, Pure Storage, etc.
  • Deep understanding of SAN/NAS protocols (iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB) and RAID architectures.
  • Experience with cloud storage platforms (AWS S3/EBS, Azure Blob/File, Google Cloud Storage).
  • Strong knowledge of backup & DR solutions – e.g., Veeam, Veritas, CommVault, Rubrik.
  • Solid experience in VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, monitoring tools, and automation for infrastructure provisioning (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell).
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or equivalent
  • AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – Data Center (optional)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM13,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
