  • Provide fulltime support to the project by maintaining a visible presence to the field and to be observant and coordinate with all respective workmen at site.
  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the Safety & Health program.
  • Inform the project management team and supervision on any new or conflictive legislative matters that could impact the project.
  • From time to time whenever need arises you are to develop the Site Safety Management Plan (SMP) for the work and for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and community.
  • Regularly audit the site for compliance on SMP and report on any irregularities.
  • To provide first aid, liaise with hospital and polis department whenever need arises at site.
  • Provide direction, support and resource to all site managers, supervisors, foremen and safety advisors.
  • Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.
  • Participate and assist the supervisors, foreman, safety advisors, etc. in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause and follow through with corrective actions.
  • Prepare all necessary documentations, chairing Toolbox & Safety meeting, compile weekly Safety Report which is compulsory
  • To liaise with OSHA, JKKP, building dept and local authorities whenever issues related to Safety & Health.
  • Ensure all workers/ personnel documentations such as CIDB, work permits are complete and accurate.
  • Update postings on Health and safety policy, inspection and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained and current.
  • To communicate, coach and assist the field staff to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.
  • Valid Yellow Book holder, registered with Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • At least 2- or 3-years working experience at site and/or assignment exposure.
  • Familiar with standard concepts and best practices for construction/substation/environment for both safety and administration.
  • Able to commute to or relocate to LANGKAWI for this job.
