For our Regional APAC business center, we are currently seeking an Operations Accountant. This role will report to the Business Line Controller Manager based in the U.S.
Position Summary:
The Operations Accountant focuses on internal management financial reporting including allocating and analyzing direct and indirect costs, actual versus budgeted cost variance analysis, etc. as well as developing and monitoring annual revenue/expense budgets for the purpose of controlling funds and measuring operating results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze operational balance sheet accounts for adjustment at month end.
- Ensure integrity of operational master data elements in SAP, including cost center and profit center maintenance.
- Perform periodic updates of production standards in SAP.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for operational site(s) overseen.
- Support analysis of profitability of respective operating site(s) and new product launches.
- Ensure proper month end cutoff procedures and revenue recognition.
- Analyze and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. Study changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs/standards.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Develop operational budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Direct physical inventories (annual and cycle counts) and coordinates with internal and external auditors.
- Monitor and track property, plant and equipment to ensure proper valuation, including identification of potential opportunities to dispose/sell.
- Manage capital budgets and expenditures, support the preparation and monitoring of appropriation requests, and track actual cost and performance versus budget.
- Assist site manager(s) with developing and tracking cost reduction plans and implement profit improvement strategies.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 3-6+ years of previous management accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Experience with SAP ERP/BPC/BI.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated general business acumen.
