TECHNICIAN

1. Maintenance and Repairs a) Attend to all repairs and maintenance requests on various electrical system and equipment for guestrooms as well as kitchen, outlets and public area - To maintain proper control of all M&E systems - Services and repairs various electrical equipment in the kitchen, heaters and generators are readily functional and in good working order. - Repairs and maintains electrical circuits in all areas of hotel control including power and lighting. - Ensure all the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi are in good working condition in Fitness Centre. - Carries out daily checks on all mechanical and electrical installations and to ensure that they are in working order. - Carries out shift duties, or when called upon to perform odd duties whenever a person of the same category falls sick, is on vacation or absent from duty or as called upon to do so from time to time as directed by the superior. - Advises on improvements to present electrical systems in compliance to J.B.E. standard. - Carries out electrical insulation test and bad contacts annually or monthly as per system defects. b) Ensure safety equipment is tested and functional - Daily carry out the routine checklist for the operating equipments. - Assist service leader to ensure all the steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are in good working condition in Fitness Centre. - Attend to immediate repairs through Maintenance Work Orders and follow-up on any outstanding Work Orders. - Ensure that all lights in the public area and guest corridors are in working condition, as on the Daily Checklist - To ensure that outstanding works are followed up accordingly and hand over shift with proper procedure. - To carry out any other responsible duties and responsibilities as assigned. 2. Projects / Involvement a) Participate when assigned to any renovation or expansion work in the Hotel - Assists Project Engineers/Maintenance Engineers on renovations works on expansion of Hotel facilities, i.e., electrical installation for safety compliance to JBE standard 3. Fire Emergency / Safety - To be ERT members during fire emergency situation. - Direct/brief on electrical safety on electrical maintenance and hotel electrical system. 4. Environmental Awareness - To reduce waste supplies and materially re-using or selling. - Recycle when possible. - Conserves water and energy. - Maintain clean surrounding. - Maintain the daily store in an orderly and tidy manner. 5. Preventive Maintenance - To carry out in P.M for the hotel electrical and mechanical equipment. - Repair and service all mechanical and electrical equipments in the guestrooms i.e., Locks, curtain rails, door hinges, door closer, lighting, telephone, safe box, television, toilet systems and etc. - Record all jobs done, spare parts utilized and submit all reports on the same day. 6. Project Set-Up for Function - To assist in setting up minor projects for function usage such as Christmas, New Year and any Event for decoration. 7. Training - To attend specific training that is provided by the Hotel 8. Occasional duties - To respond to changes in the departmental function as dictated by industry, company and hotel - To carry out any other responsible duties and responsibilities as assigned.
