Job description • Designing and developing new tools and equipment using Unigraphics, Solidworks, Master Cam and Pro E software and other engineering tools • Analysing engineering requirements and specifications to create optimised tool designs • Testing and validating tool prototypes to ensure they meet quality and performance standards • Collaborating with manufacturing teams to oversee the production of new tools • Providing technical support and training to tool users • Continuously researching and implementing improvements to existing tool designs • Documenting all design processes and maintaining accurate records • Fabricate, assemble, and repair casting tools and dies. • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precision. • Perform tool and die maintenance to ensure optimal performance. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in casting tools during production. • Collaborate with engineers to optimize tool design and production processes. • Maintain records of tool modifications and repairs. • Candidate must be familiar with fixtures, trimming, die, stamping tool, plastic moulding, die casting and simulation software. What we're looking for • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline • Minimum 5 years of experience in tool design, preferably in the engineering industry • Proficient in using CAD software, such as Unigraphics, Solidworks, Master Cam and Pro E software. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to optimise tool designs • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment • Good communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams
