A well-known hospitality group located near KLCC is seeking a Bartender/Barback or Barista with Fine Dining experience to join its fine dining brand and assist with outside events. This brand is an award-winning restaurant that provides exceptional service and surpasses guest expectations. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Outlet Manager to achieve financial success and deliver a high-quality dining experience that meets guest expectations. Salary negotiation will be based on the candidate’s level of expertise. The main responsibilities include:
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with opening and closing duties.
- Keep the bar stocked with garnishes, straws, and napkins.
- Make sure the bartenders have clean towels, glassware, and garnishes.
- Keep the bar stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
- Check beer taps and coolers to confirm they are working correctly.
- Make minor repairs to appliances if needed.
- Assist with keeping the bar clean by wiping counters and surfaces, sweeping, and mopping the floors, clearing the counter of used glasses, scrub coolers, and empty the trash when necessary.
- Learn about menu items and memorize drink recipes.
- Assist with taking orders, preparing drinks, clearing tables, opening tabs.
- Communicate with guests, answer questions, and handle complaints.
- Maintain and report levels of usage to make the reordering process simple.
- Make sure all delivered items are stored properly.
- Assist with outside events, helping to set up and serve at off-site functions, contributing to the success of these special occasions.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Be the minimum age required to serve alcohol
- Maintain a courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance
- Knowledge of current menu items, beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors
- Full-time
- Ability to remain calm in tense situations with coworkers and customers
- Observant and thorough when completing tasks
- Reliable and punctual
- Be able to stand, walk, or lift heavy objects for extended periods
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical requirements
- Stamina and Endurance: Restaurant managers often work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. They need the stamina to remain alert and effective throughout their shift.
- Mobility: Managers must be able to move freely around the restaurant, which includes walking, standing for extended periods, and possibly climbing stairs if the restaurant has multiple levels.
- Lifting and Carrying: There may be occasions when a manager needs to lift and carry items such as inventory boxes, and equipment, or even assist with moving furniture. This may require a moderate level of physical strength.
- Manual Dexterity: Handling paperwork, using point-of-sale systems, and other tasks may require good manual dexterity.
- Visual Acuity: The ability to read menus, inventory lists, and other documents, as well as to monitor the dining room and kitchen areas, requires good vision.
- Hearing: Being able to communicate effectively with staff and customers, often in a noisy environment, is important.
- Stress Management: While not a physical requirement per se, the ability to manage stress and remain calm under pressure is crucial for a restaurant manager, as the job can be fast-paced and demanding.
