Lead PerkinElmer’s procurement efforts across Asia. This senior role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that support our ambitious growth objectives while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply chain optimization. The successful candidate will leverage their high-level expertise in procurement and supplier management to drive competitive advantages and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Procurement Leadership covering all spend in Asia (Direct and Indirect Procurement)
  • Develop and implement regional procurement strategies aligned with global objectives, focusing on cost efficiency, innovation, sustainability, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with global procurement teams & commodity managers to ensure alignment and integration of best practices across regions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective supply lines.
  • Lead supplier performance management, including ongoing evaluations, negotiations, and development programs to ensure best-in-class standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring seamless and efficient processes in the delivery of goods and services to our three sites in Asia.
  • Optimize procurement procedures and policies to increase transparency, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
  • Lead in special projects and key initiatives identified from time to time, as assigned
  • Lead and mentor the Asia procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team to build future leaders and experts in procurement.
  • Manage the procurement budget for the region and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Work with Finance to ensure inventory targets are met
  • Ensure payment terms meet corporate targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree holder in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent disciplines
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior procurement role, with demonstratable experience in Asia.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement and supply chain management best practices.
  • Global procurement experience – North America and Europe
  • Proficiency in relevant procurement software and tools – SAP is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to process and interpret complex data and develop insights and action plans.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication experience is desired.
  • Willingness to travel within the Asia region and occasionally globally as required.
