Job Summary

The EHS Executive ensures the company’s compliance with environmental, health, safety, and security regulations. This role is responsible for conducting safety risk assessments, managing environmental impact, overseeing security operations, and participating in internal audits for the Integrated Management System (IMS). The EHS Executive plays a key role in maintaining compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and relevant legal requirements.


Key Accountabilities

1. Environmental Compliance

  • To manage environmental programs (waste management, pollution control)
  • To ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and regulatory requirements

2. Occupational health and safety

  • To conduct safety and health risk assessments (HIRARC)
  • To maintain the Chemical Register
  • To ensure compliance with OSHA regulations

3. Fire Safety

  • To manage emergency response teams (ERT) and firefighting equipment
  • To conduct fire evacuation drills

4. Security Management

  • To oversee the implementation of security measures
  • To conduct security risk assessments
  • To supervise external security services.
  • To investigate and report security breaches.

5. IMS Internal Audits

  • To participate in internal audits for ISO 14001 and 45001
  • To support the QA Manager

6. Incident Reporting

  • To investigate accidents, near-miss incidents, and security breaches
  • To recommend corrective actions

Other Responsibilities

1. Employee Training

  • To provide training on safety and environmental policies

2. 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Initiatives in the Company

  • To promote waste reduction (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) initiatives within the company

3. Regulatory Reporting

  • To prepare and submit reports to regulatory bodies (DOSH, DOE, Bomba)


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years in EHS-related roles, including experience in security management and internal audits.
  • Familiar with Environmental management system (ISO14001:2015) and Occupational Safety and Health Management System (ISO 45001:2018)
  • Familiar in regulatory requirement on the environment management such as Environmental Quality Act 1974 (Act 127), Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005, Environmental Quality (Industries Effluent) Regulations 2009, Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 2014, etc.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements on Safety and Health management such as under Factory and Machinery Act 1967 and Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, etc.
  • Knowledge of security risk management and best practices.
  • Familiarity with wastewater treatment operations and pollution prevention methods.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting internal audits and preparing reports.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Proactive, attention to detail, strong leadership, and teamwork skills.

Licenses & Certifications

Competence person in

  • Certified Environmental Professional (CePIETSO, CePSWaM) or Certified Safety Officer by DOSH/NIOSH.
  • Any relevant security management certifications would be beneficial.
