Swift’s Corporate Communications team is responsible for communications relating to the corporate identity of Swift, including reputation management, media relations, corporate messaging, and the production of corporate publications. We are looking for a Corporate Communications specialist with 10+ years of experience in corporate communications and media relations in the financial services or technology sectors, and in-depth knowledge of financial markets. An understanding - or experience of - geopolitics in the region would be advantageous.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining strategic communication plans to support Swift’s stakeholder engagement in Asia Pacific. Project management, execution and reporting of communications campaigns and projects is paramount in this role. Regional and global liaison with the wider communications group will be required for the successful roll-out of communications activities in Asia Pacific.
Responsibilities
Design, build and execute Asia Pacific communications strategies, plans and activities by understanding customer needs, the competitive landscape, financial industry and market trends, and the changing operating environment of Asia Pacific in global markets.
Media Relations:
- In collaboration with our PR agencies, develop and manage media relationships across beats relevant to Swift – payments, securities, fintech, trade, cybersecurity, compliance – and the financial trade press.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts across the APAC region.
- Develop pitches, messaging and content that positions Swift as a thought leader using a variety of channels to reach target audiences and a variety of writing styles (including, op-eds, short news articles for website, writing for social media, and corporate materials).
- Analyse and interpret industry and Swift data to create new story angles.
Regional Communications:
- Develop and implement regional communication strategies that align with global objectives.
- Collaborate with local teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation.
- Monitor and analyse regional communication trends and provide insights to senior management.
Event Support:
- Coordinate and support third-party events, including industry conferences, trade shows, and partner events.
- Plan and execute company-hosted events and press conferences.
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and on-site support.
Content Creation:
- Create compelling content for various communication channels, including social media, newsletters, and internal communications.
- Ensure all content is aligned with brand guidelines and corporate messaging.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, media, event organizers and vendors.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience in communications, marketing, media, journalism in a banking and finance/financial technology environment.
- Strong (and demonstrable) media relationships in the region.
- Agency management experience.
- Experience with social media channels.
- Experience of working in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, across geographies and teams.
- Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and the skills to prioritise in a rapidly changing environment.
- Executive presence - excellent internal and external interpersonal and networking skills including at senior management level.
