Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cyber Threat Analyst to join our dynamic Cyber Security team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats to protect our organization's information assets. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the current threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Threat Intelligence Analysis:

  • Collect, process, and analyze threat intelligence data from various sources, including open-source intelligence (OSINT), proprietary databases, and third-party vendors. Identify emerging threats and assess their potential impact on the organization.

Incident Response:

  • Assist in the detection, analysis, and response to cyber security incidents. Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for suspicious activities and potential threats. Generate and present detailed reports on threat findings, trends, and remediation efforts to stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with other members of the Cyber Security team to develop and implement threat mitigation strategies. Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain complex security issues and their impact.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends, tools, and best practices. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and networking concepts.
  • Experience with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, and EDR solutions.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for analysis.

Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
