Role Overview

We are searching for a Production Manager for our Malaysia plant in Petaling Jaya to supervise the day to day production operations of our drum producing facility.

Role Details

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position would suit a collaborative person who can lead a stable team and take on projects to further the automation aspirations of our site. This would suit someone with a technical background and with an understanding of industrial manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration with customers, sales, finance, supply chain, human resources, quality, engineering/operations team, and other business units.
• Focus on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and other performance metrics as outlined in the KPIs.
• Actively seek out and implement continuous quality and cost improvements in production operations.
• Set clear expectations for the team, monitor their performance, and recognize achievements that meet or exceed objectives; take corrective action when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production environment that supports efficient and productive operations.
• Apply quality management techniques to solve problems, make corrective actions, and guide process decisions.
• Establish and manage the budget and annual production plan, monitor performance, and take corrective actions as needed.
• Develop, implement, and support systems to achieve cost reductions, quality improvements, productivity increases, inventory reductions, and service enhancements, such as Assemble to Order, Build to Order, Line Stock, Kanban, New Technology, Automated Assembly, and Set-Up Reductions.
• Establish and implement training programs, and develop a cross-trained, multi-functional workforce.
  
  

Requirements

• Engineering or technical degree.
• Experience within a multi-national environment and a production leadership role.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and ISO 9000 standards.
• Knowledge of manufacturing information systems (including forecasting, MRP, SPC, labor management, and costing).
• Must be fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English.
